Stephen Lee

Stephen Lee rejoined KPG in December 2017, having been one of the original members of the firm. He has over 20 years of experience working with fiduciary investment platforms–including institutions, private banks and large RIAs–in both alternative and traditional asset management. Stephen has represented his firms to a wide array of institutional investors, including central banks, non-governmental organizations, sovereign wealth funds, corporate pension plans, insurance companies, investment and commercial banks, hedge funds, private equity funds, endowments, foundations and hospitals.

In addition to KPG, Stephen worked for such firms as Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Citigroup Alternative Investments, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Swiss Bank Corporation. He also spent two years as an independent hedge fund consultant providing sales and marketing insights to hedge funds and fund of funds, developing marketing material, training sales forces, conducting market research, and advising on industry best practices.

Stephen began his career as an academic historian, receiving his B.A. from Stony Brook University and his Ph.D. from Columbia University. He also taught at City College/CUNY and Lafayette College. He holds Series 7 and 66 securities registrations,  as well as the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)® designation from the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly IMCA)®.
